A Family Fun Day In Aid Of Local Charities
The St. Stephens Day Challenge match is an annual event that is contested between Carrigaline Utd AFC and Carrigaline Hurling and Football Club.
Now in it’s 6th year, the St. Stephens Day Challenge Match has raised over €15,000 so far, with all monies raised given to the Carrigaline Lions Club who distribute it to local charities.
Pictured at the launch of the St. Stephen’s Day Challenge in Rosies Bar were Greg O’Halloran & Kalen Spillane (Cork City FC) with Pat O’Sullivan, Carrigaline Lions Club. |
Each year this match alternates between Carrigaline Soccer Club and Carrigaline GAA Club with the host club playing their preferred code. This year the Challenge Match is being hosted by the Carrigaline Hurling & Football club at their grounds on the Crosshaven road kicking off at 1PM on St. Stephen’s Day. The line up for the day is as follows:

Finally wrapping up proceedings on the pitch are the Senior teams from both clubs which will also include in their line-ups Greg O’Halloran & Kalen Spillane (Cork City FC) and Nicholas Murphy & Michael Shields (Cork Senior Footballers). Off the pitch and in the club house bar, DJ Roy will be spinning the tunes while in the main hall, there will be entertainment between 3pm & 5pm for all the children.
