Biggest ever Cycle Classic
The 2010 Carrigaline Lions Cycle Classic had the largest number of participating cyclists ever in its 19 year history. Over 200 people cycled in the event which took place between Carrigaline and Bantry on Saturday October 9th. The majority of cyclists covered the full distance of 95km but shorter courses of 65km and 35km were also available to enable as many people as possible to participate. The event raised over €40,000 for various charities with Marymount Hospice again this year being a major beneficiary. Cyclists were accompanied along the route by Irish cycling legend Sean Kelly and the event culminated in a dinner held in the Maritime Hotel in Bantry on Saturday evening. A big thanks to all who took part and helped to make this yet again an incredibly successful and enjoyable fundraising event.
