Golf Classic

Golf Classic Winners 2007On Thursday 10th May, Carrigaline Lions Club held their annual Golf Classic in Monkstown Golf Club sponsored by Castlelands Construction. Pictured at the prizegiving to the winning team are Bernard Cronin – Captain of Monkstown GC, Donal Browning – Lions Club President, Mick Maguire, Keith Looney, Denis Harrington and Sean Nevin – Chairman of the Golf Classic Committee. 
We were delighted to have Castlelands Construction as our main sponsor and we look forward to their continued support. Team Keith Loony took away first prize – it was also the first time that Keith had entered a team in the Classic!!!
We had a total of 52 teams taking part and we raised in excess of €12,000 and the beneficiaries will be our Housing Project, The Annual holiday for the Seniors Citizens in Trabolgan and other Lions Club charities.
 
This was our 19th year running the Golf Classic in Monkstown GC and to-date this event has raised more than €175,000 .
Beneficiaries over the years have included Tabor Lodge, the Mercy Hospital Children’s Leukaemia Unit, Multiple Sclerosis, The Irish Heart Foundation and our first housing project in addition to other deserving causes.
 
Next year we will be celebrating our 20th Classic in May  – so put that date in your diary!
