Carrigaline GAA and a Carrigaline Village Selection are going to have a challenge match at Carrigaline GAA Club on St. Stephens Day, Dec 26th 2008 at 1.15pm. Funds raised from the event will be donated to Carrigaline & District Lions Club Charities. The event started a few years ago and has been gaining popularity every year since. The event was the brainchild of Nicholas Murphy and Pat Allen who thought it would be a great way of the getting the local community involved in a fun event on St. Stephens Day. At the launch, the President of Carrigaline & District Lions Club, Adrian O’Herlihy, said that the Lions Club was delighted to be associated with this event. “The event is a healthy and fun family event and it would raise much needed funds towards our housing for the elderly project which is currently being built at Mount Rivers Estate”.
