Fort 2 Fort – a unique charity challenge for cycling enthusiasts!

The Cycle
The Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle will take place on Sunday 24th March, 2013. Beginning at Trabolgan Holiday Village and finishing at Fort Camden, Crosshaven, this exciting challenge gives cyclists of all abilities the option of takeing a 60km or 112km( (loop) route. Both routes pass through Whitegate and Saleen, where the 60km will take the spectacular loop around East Ferry, with both continuing on to Middleton for a refreshment stop at Barryscourt Castle. Cyclists will then make their way to Fota Island. At Belvelly the 112km route will again split from the 60km route, with the 60km continuing along the Coast Road and the 112km taking a more challenging loop to Rossleague and onto the Strand Road. At Cross River Ferry both routes will again converge.Cyclists will continue on to Monkstown, Shanbally, Ringaskiddy and Carrigaline before taking in the beautiful scenery on the road into Crosshaven. At Ford Camden, the 60km comes to an end and all participants can enjoy refreshments while gazing upon the majesty of one of the deepest natural harbours in the world.
The 112k (route is blue and red on map) will continue on from Fort Camden, along the coast and travel through Myrtleville, Fountainstown and Carrigaline before cycling back to the Cross River Ferry. On exiting the ferry, cyclists will take the Coast Road back to Fota Island and continue towards Midleton. Passing once again through Saleen and Whitegate, the 112km cycle will finish back at Trabolgan Holiday Village.
If desired, transport will be available for the 60km cyclist and their bikes back to Trabolgan Holiday Village.
An early bird rate of €39* per cyclist is available up to and including Friday 1st February. After this date registration will be €45. Minimum age requirement is 18 years.

The Details
Sign in and registration will take place from 8:30am at Trabolgan Holiday Villge. The cycle will begin at 10am. If desired, transport will be available for cyclist and their bikes back to Trabolgan Holiday Village.
It is essential that each cyclist has the following:
- Cycling helmet (Compulsory)
- A good quality bike in perfect working order
- Some spare tubes
- A rain jacket
