Carrigaline Turns Out In Style
Lions Club fashion show raises over €9000 for Breast Cancer Ireland and ARC House Cork
The Carrigaline & District Lions Club hosted its first Pink-a-Porter Fashion Show in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland in the Carsrigaline Court Hotel on Thursday the 8th of March.
A 450 strong crowd of ladies and fashion conscious gentlemen were treated to a complimentary drinks reception sponsored by West Coast Cooler. The show was presented by PJ Coogan from Cork 96FM and featured the fabulous Spring Summer collections from Fran & Jane, Oasis, Coast, French Connection, Monsoon, Karla’s, Gabrielle’s Fashions, Best Menswear and many more. The Holman Lee Modelling Agency coordinated the event and acted with ultimate professionalism as did RETRO, Carrigaline, who looked after hair on the night. Shoes were provided by Batemans and Bronte.
The fashion was followed by music on the night from The Fallen Drakes; one of Ireland’s most promising new bands and winners of the RTE Breakthrough Award 2011.
Guests also had the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes sponsored by local businesses in Carrigaline which gave so generously to the event. The main sponsor of the event was Moore’s Jewelers, Ireland’s leading independent fine jewelers. “John Moore and his staff were fantastic and couldn’t have done more to help us make this event a success” said Committee Chairperson Jill O’Reilly.
“We were delighted to work with Breast Cancer Ireland to help raise funds for this worthy cause”, said John Doran President of the Carrigaline & District Lions Club. “€9,280 was raised by the event which provided badly needed funds to the main charity Breast Cancer Ireland, Arc House Cork and other Lion’s Club charities. We thank all the ladies in Carrigaline who joined us on the night to make the evening such a massive success”.
